As part of their agreement with News Corp. last year, TWC has the option to show Fox programming should a Fox affiliate (affiliate being a TV station that carries Fox programming but is not owned by Fox) pull its signal from the cable operator.
The deal is that Fox will offer the programming to TWC independently of the affiliate for up to one year. This is causing huge negotiations problems for Sinclair - especially since it's a Super Bowl year for Fox. What will be really interesting to see is if TWC pads the affiliate commercial time with their own commercials.
