It's not a majority, but four of the ten Oscar nominees (Fox
Searchlight's "127 Hours" and "Black Swan," Warners' "Inception" and
Focus/Universal's "The Kids Are All Right") will have their first
premium channel airings on HBO and Cinemax--second place is the
sparsely distributed (but huge online) Epix, with Paramount's "The
Fighter" and "True Grit" and Roadside Attractions' "Winter's Bone,"
Starz/Encore is in third with Sony's "The Social Network" and Disney's
"Toy Story 3" and Showtime/TMC, hit by Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM's
forming Epix and their own decision to put money on original
programming over movie rights, just has the leader in nominations,
Weinstein Company's "The King's Speech"--here's all of the noms:
