Soap fans peeved over "As the World Turns" being given the ax for the
"View" knockoff were hoping that the departure of Barbara Bloom from
CBS daytime programming chief would mean that the "mom" gabfest would
be gone, but the show's been pulling particularly good numbers this
month and CBS has given the show (the only daytime show it owns, along
with Relativity--Fremantle owns "Price is Right" and "Let's Make a
Deal," Sony owns "Young and Restless" and the Bell family owns "Bold
and Beautiful") its vote of confidence (and Nina Tassler ensures that
Les will have happy bedtimes with Chenbot):
