While reading the NYT's obit for David Frye (qv), a popup pointed me to another for Callas, who took a break from near-constant appearances on variety and talk shows (he induced the famous 'A-bomb' whistle from Carson in '82, after which Callas charged him; he was banned from the show thence) to co-star in the 70s drama, "Switch." 83 (Times initially flubbed his age)
