I'd say she's more in the Matthew Perry position of having several
shows ("Second Chance", "Sydney", "Home Free") not make it while
waiting for lightning to strike. Or, if you'd rather, Jennifer Aniston
("Molloy", "Ferris Bueller", "The Edge", "Muddling Through"). When
"The Cape" fails (and it will) anybody who has watched it would be
hard pressed to put the blame on Summer Glau.
Oh, and the McGinley-as-show-killer thing is a myth. When he joined
"Married With Children" in season 5, he was on right up to the end in
season 11. When he joined "Happy Days", he was on that through the end
in season 11. He was on "Hope & Faith" from the beginning and it ran 3
seasons. I bet 98% of the actors in Hollywood would sell their
grandmothers to gypsies for this sort of career:
