I had it happen a few times. Release dates for media are usually on Tuesdays, so some orders that use ground shipping or the old fashioned USPS can be shipped a few days early in order to ensure delivery on time. Since Saturday delieveries are being reduced and nobody deleivrs on Sundays, sometimes the stuff arrives early. Having worked as a manager at Barnes & Noble for a year, it annoyed me that I'd receive a DVD or CD I'd really want into the store on a Friday or Saturday but I wouldn't be able to buy it until Tuesday.
I wish more people would discover Ernie Kovacs. He was instrumental in making television into more than just radio with pictures. He made the visuals matter, and he experimented with the medium, paving the way for a whole new creative art form. He does not get nearly enough credit for his contribution.
