I don't know if he dry labbed the review, but I did see the film, and after
briefly reading his note that the character smoked a pipe, I thought that
felt familiar enough that I was surprised to read that it was not in the
film. Pipe smoking seems to have been an element of this character that that
actor used in portraying it. It is plausible that he saw the film, then
referred to an earlier version of the screen play when writing his review
and did not notice the change in the pipe smoking element.
