I think a true mark of quality is how well a dramatic piece holds up when
you change setting, time, and even characters. That's why Shakespeare is
literally timeless; if you can stage 16th century plays - like Othello in
the world of high school basketball ("O"), Hamlet in a biker gang (Sons of
Anarchy), or Much Ado About Nothing as a curling foursome returning from a
bonspiel in the Canadian Prairie (seen at the Edmonton Fringe fest) - you
know you've got solid material on your hands. I thought they got the
Cumberbatch Sherlock just about perfect, a process made easier for excellent
source material.Chris On Tue, May 10, 2011 at 1:32 AM, Michael <[email protected]> wrote: > Very pleased about the renewal, and happy to see that wary TVONTVers > have been enjoying "Sherlock."
