Apollo Global Management, whose holdings include Norwegian Cruise Lines and the Caesars resort/gaming chain, has purchased CKX, the parent company of 19 Entertainment, co-owner of the "Idol" franchise with RTL Group's FremantleMedia and "So You Think You Can Dance" with dick clark productions--the private equity firm hasn't indicated its plans with CKX, but since Ceasars' Harrah's unit has worked with Fremantle on live versions of Fremantle's game shows like "The Price is Right" and "Family Feud," there could very well be "Idol" and "SYTYCD" cruises on NCL in the future:
