I know what you're getting at, but if I interpret Olbermann correctly, "Countdown" in its present form isn't "The Current TV Evening News with Keith Olbermann." It's "Keith Olbermann: News and Comment." He's doing what Paul Harvey did on radio for decades and a whole bunch of commentators, including Ed Murrow and Lowell Thomas, did in 15- minute increments in the dnner hour on the radio networks until late in the 60s--a program of news interlaced with commentary. Since he has at least a half-hour more to fill than the 12 minutes of the radio shows, he can't do all the talking, so he brings on others for the commentary along with his own. Just like you came into Harvey or Murrow or Thomas' programs, knew where they were coming from and reconciled it with their own views, you come to Olbermann (or O'Reilly) and reconcile it with your own view. Back then, if you wanted the straight news, you listened to CBS' "The World Tonight" (or "World News Roundup Evening Edition," as it's now known). Now, if you want the straight news, you watch the dinnertime shows or "PBS NewsHour." You want commentary, you watch Olbermann or O'Reilly. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
