There's not a show quite like it. But as Jay says, it's a bit of a
combination of lots.

There's Cash in the Attic is a BBC daytime show in which someone looks to
raise a relatively modest amount by auctioning off their heirlooms and so
on. The big tension comes when their prized possessions do or don't meet the
reserves or expected dividends.

Then there's an ITV daytime show called Dickinson's Real Deal presented by
the perma-tanned David Dickinson (he styles himself as a real-life Ian
McShane Lovejoy which I'm sure aired on PBS at some point). In this show
contestants bring their items along to be appraised by one of Dickinson's
resident experts. They offer cash on the table for the item, with Dickinson
occassionally offering advice. They can either do the deal there and then,
or they can go to auction to see what it makes.

And there's a third daytime show that's been running longer than either of
these two called Bargain Hunt. Two pairs of contestants, each with a team
expert, are given a budget to buy antiques at an antiques fair (think garage
sale on a big scale), and then auction the items off at the end of the show.
The biggest profit (or least loss) wins.

You'll gather from this that:

1. UK TV viewers love antiques shows and
2. There are an awful lot of auctions taking place.

As it's an ITV Studios show it couldn't *possibly* be Cash in the Attic even
if it sounds like it, because that's made by Leopard Films for the BBC.

What I'd note is that in the UK, only Antiques Roadshow is a primetime show
(7pm Sunday). The rest are daytime shows where they mix with the various
gameshows, Australian soaps (you have to hunt to find a US daytime soap),
talk shows and property shows (another genre to talk about another day).
