I remember buying The National every day on my way to work. I was 17 at the time, working at a sub shop, and I knew, even at that young age, that this was great stuff.
It's impossible to judge success after two days, but the stuff they're putting out is very good. If you're not a sports fan, try Wright Thompson's piece on the closing of Elaine's in NYC.
