Although Simon Fuller, creator of the money-printer known as "American Idol," was not involved with the original British version of "The X Factor," he claims that Fox and "idol" and "X Factor" co-owner FremantleMedia promised him an executive producer credit and he has filed suit against the two companies responsible for his TV success in the U.S. to get it:
