Funny, that was my immediate question after the opening titles too. I think there are little strains of "Jessica"'s chorus riff under the main title card, but I was a little shocked at the replacement. It would be like if someone replaced the MST3K theme with generic production music. Very jarring.
Speaking of jarring - it seemed a bit odd to me that they'd start the season by smashcutting straight into a road trip film & skipping the studio segment altogether. That said, the boys are getting more familiar with each other, and that's a good thing, because it makes the interaction more natural. And I liked the idea of the 'studio' spilling out of the hangar, although I imagine that won't be the case every week. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
