Well, when I called them and they tried to set OD up, it rendered the box useless. Happily a tech can deliver a hopefully-working one before the next IronPigs home game Friday. And to make things worse, when I tried to make sure the VCR tuner was still OK, as we would be stuck with it till then, its remote died on me, and I had to go switch back an older VCR (I recall mentioning it in this list in '07) that was still stashed in the house until I hear from Sony about how to reset the remote.
