After rumors that they wanted to take G4 off of NBCUKabletown's hands,
the mixed martial arts promotion instead has signed with Fox Sports
for a contract that although it is mostly for FX (32 weekly telecasts
and the reality show "The Ultimate Fighter," which was on Spike), does
include four prime time slots on the mainline Fox network--however,
UFC will still produce the telecasts themselves with their own
overwrought announcers, with Fox only producing pre- and post-bout
coverage:

Considering the failure of CBS' attempt to put MMA bouts from another
promotion on Saturday nights a few years ago, one wonders if UFC will
be able to get a bigger-than-cable audience on Fox mainline.
Meanwhile, FX has its first reality series since Morgan Spurlock's "30
Days," and you could also wonder how the programming people at FX who
seem to have made a great effort to avoid reality programming feel
about "Ultimate Fighter" being foisted on them.
