Eighteen months after what he said was his retirement, Bill Moyers will be back on public TV in January, but not on PBS--his new "Moyers & Company" interview series will be distributed by American Public Television, the company that mainly deals in how-to shows (including "America's Test Kitchen"), movie and Britcom packages, the more annoying of pledge drive shows and "Ebert Presents At the Movies"-- thanks to the Carnegie Corporation and presumably Moyers' long-time underwriter Mutual of America insurance, stations won't have to pay for it:
