It is surprising that nobody associated with 'the worldwide leader' has been
able to answer that question with certainty.  Clearly corporate synergy is not
universal between ESPN and ABC.

The show is live on the East Coast, at least according to host Tom Bergeron,
who signals me to change the channel when he says "And we're live!"

Folks have withdrawn before elimination, usually due to injury, or the
possibility of injury (a few folks just aren't up to the training schedule).
Given the NBA relationship with ABC/ESPN, it would surprise me if Artest would
be forced to stick around for what little overlap there might be should the
lockout end sooner than most anyone anticipates.

parody of the show it would still look like this

The problem is, he really is mentally ill, and likely at any time to implode
(is this show live, or taped? Ron-Ron is capable of dropping F-bombs even in a
good cause).

I still can't find direct discussion of the implication for the NBA season,
except it a report speculating that any deal he signed must have had
contingencies in case for some reason the season (and I must assume the
training camp period prior to the start of the season) begins before he is
voted off the show. Has anyone ever dropped out of this show before they were
voted off?
