I took the regular tour of WB in October 2009 - I think it cost $40.
Sadly we didn't see anyone famous, at least no one I recognized. They
showed us the empty living room set for "Two and a Half Men" - it was
smaller than it looks on TV. They still have the coffee shop set for
"Friends", and they'll let you sit on the couch and take a picture. I
was surprised to see how many sets they had, and how real they looked.
Since that visit I recognized outdoor "house" sets I had seen on more
than one episode of "The Mentalist", and I saw the church on "Bones".
The funniest moment of recognition for me, though, was seeing a store
street sign I took a picture of on an episode of "Harry's Law". I
froze the DVR and ran to get the picture to show my husband. I told
him that the reason he thinks he's seen so many locations on TV shows
before is because he has - they're probably the same set, dressed
differently. I was puzzled by the trees in the "town square" - they
said they had plucked all the leaves off so they could put fall-color
leaves on for "Witches of Eastwick". I don't understand why they
don't just use fake tree trunks, so it would be easy to change the
leaves at will. I can't imagine plucking the leaves off is good for
the live trees. The guide said they had to use more detailed painting
of sets with the advent of hi-def TV, or else the sets look fake. It
was a cool and enjoyable tour for me, since I enjoy TV so much.
