The title of the Reuters article I'm linking to is "In switch, cable
operators want to go "a la carte"."

In the article, though, nobody has a a la carte model ready or is even
discussing true a la carte. What the article discusses is the problem
cable operators are dealing with as content costs are going up faster
than the rate of inflation and the headache negotiating retransmission
agreements has become. I don't think we're going to see radical change
from the cable companies soon, but there may be signs that things
can't continue the way they always have.
