I won't get into the politics of what has been going on in Boston over
the last few hours. I watched it unfold live on two different webcams,
and was getting real time updates leading to the arrests via Twitter
and Google+. But I don't want to talk about the politics here. What I
want to state is this:

CNN, MSNBC, FoxNews, and CurrentTV's websites made NO mention of it as
it happened.

And now it appears that, in the dead of night, it is also happening in
Dallas, Seattle, and too many other cities to mention.

In Boston, the media was ordered to vacate before any arrests were
made. I state again, the press was denied the right to cover what
happened.

Look, kids, agree with the Occupy protests or not, but you'd have to
be blind, deaf, and dumb to believe they aren't newsworthy. And you'd
have to lack a pulse to believe late-night raids aren't newsworthy.
And considering the timing involved, there might also be something to
be said about local officials from multiple cities coordinating the
arrests -- that seems newsworthy to me, too.

I'm sure they'll cover it in the morning in their sanitized,
goes-good-with-coffee newscasts. But I watched it unfold live, and
millions of people didn't because the networks didn't even bother to
tell them it was happening. I've never seen anything like that in my
lifetime. I think you'd have to go back more than 40 years to find
anything comparable in US history. But the news divisions didn't find
anything worth reporting tonight.
