Rather than start a new thread, I'll just point out that there is a massive battle happening between the Oakland Police Department and Occupy Oakland protesters right now.
Neither CNN, nor MSNBC, nor Fox News, nor HLN have bothered to break away from their videotaped 3-or-more-hour-old shows for this. It's not even 9 PM on the west coast and apparently, their news isn't important enough for it to get coverage. Local Bay Area affiliates are covering it.
