"The PBS NewsHour" has always been able to find underwriters (in some
cases, like with ArcherDanielsMidland, controversy along with the
underwriter), but they are losing $2M a year from Chevron at the end
of the year (and nothing has been done yet to replace the funds),
execs at producer MacNeil-Lehrer Productions have left the company,
they're losing their political editor and digital managing editor and
despite ratings dips, Jim Lehrer still is keeping his one-night-a-week
anchor schedule and staying with the rotating-anchor system (he did
cancel plans to retire from the program completely at the end of the
year):
