Howard Stern was talking to a comedian -- I can't remember who -- and said HBO will pay someone $250,000 to produce an entire special for HBO. So Louis CK has almost earned that much in profits. The advantage of going on HBO is that the audience is already built in. He's got enough name recognition he doesn't need to do that.
