For $200, I think you should be good. Sounds like there will be some neat stuff coming out next year with the new generation of Ultrabooks (very thin & light laptops similar to the MacBook Air) coming out, and the cost of solid state drives coming down. It is probably worth your while keeping this one running for another year with the $200 repair.
