Having run arguably the least effective presidential campaign in modern
political history is probably one of the main things that makes Beckel a
Fox kind of Democrat.

Beckel is actually not a huge Tebow supporter - I have read him criticizing
the Tebowite claim that God intervenes to help the teams of Christians win.
My sense is that Beckel is one of those old time Catholic Democrats (the
very kind he lost in droves in the Mondale campaign, and became known as
Reagen Democrats), and he takes his Jesus pretty seriously. He does not
like Tebow because he things Tebow is basically monitizing his Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ, and he did not like SNL for debasing JC by using him
to make a buck in pop culture. Fair enough I suppose - though something
tells me Beckel never objected to his candidates going to all of those
Knights of Columbus banquets and saying the Lord's Prayer.
