I don't think there was a lot of planning on that. Dave had been doing bits 
with nearby businesses, including Joe's Pizza, the Hello Deli, and K&L's Rock 
America, which sold touristy stuff before high rents forced them to close. Dave 
seemed to be fond of two oddly formal K&L employees from Bangladesh, Sirajul 
Islam and Mujibur Rahman. They picked out the statue. 

That's how I remember it, anyway.

Side note: I gave my grad assistant a couple of days off to see Dave and he 
brought back bribes--i mean, gifts, including a business card from K&L's 
autographed by Sirajul and Mujibur, which I still have.
