Wow. So it's taking 26 hours to get to the killer, over two years! That's six more than in the excellent Danish original. Mind you, the BBC showed them in double episodes over ten weeks, and series two was only ten hours anyway. And I believe that the Danes had to wait for long gaps between the first and second part of the series, when it originally aired there.
I suggest getting a multi-region DVD player, and watching the UK or Australian releases of the original series.
