(snippity, then JW sez:) At this point, Monday Night has become just another football telecast, despite ABC and ESPN trying to pretend that it's still the biggest game and event of the week. (When MNF went on the air in 1970, two college games on a Saturday was a lot, and there were just the two Sunday afternoon pro games. Now, of course, there are games most nights of the week, and all day Saturday and Sunday.) ESPN would be well-served to just put together a solid telecast without trying to recapture faded glory. Karla sez: I totally agree with this assessment. I am very much enjoying the Cris Collinsworth/Al Michaels Sunday night broadcasts, precisely because it's a solid telecast. I despised the MNF this past season or two because I just don't enjoy Gruden at all, and while Jaworski is an excellent analyst, his strength is not on ingame commentary. Tirico is very professional and handles his duties just fine. This was a good move by ESPN. Now they just need to get rid of Gruden, and find a decent color guy, and it would be watchable again. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
