Who knew you could stop a Captain Ersatz (1) series.

Sony argued that even after CBS and WB filed off the serial numbers (2),
it's show "Quean" was still too close to "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", so
that's that and goodbye.

But fortunately for CBS, most of the Sherlock Holmes stories are now in the
public domain, though the trademarks are owned by Arthur Conan Doyle's
estate. (Most agree that the last book, "The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes"
is under copyright in the US.) So America can still treat herself to our
gender-flipped (3), race-lifted (4) Watson.
