A couple things about that article: NBC Sports & YouTube (under the banner of the now renamed Versus network) tried releasing streaming feeds of Le Tour De France online and via iPad apps for the previous two years, and they were unable to cope with the bandwidth and other technological needs for the live feeds.
Didn't the US -- to their credit -- reject the concept of 3D TVs last year? As a one-eyed person, I applauded because I can't see any 3D format, including real life.
