Not a TV show, but Denise Crosby's character in the 1988 movie "Miracle Mile" has a brick-style cell phone -- that's the earliest "Hollywood" example I can think of. And I happen to know, because I just watched it, that there's a cordless landline phone used in 1992's "Love Potion No. 9."
