Norman Spinrad, who wrote the original-series episode "The Doomsday Machine," was asked to do a second script by the Genes, Roddenberry and Coon; intended to star a serious Milton Berle, it promptly got reworked and then shelved... then a few months ago, after a college student brought Spinrad a copy of the script to be autographed, he reoffered the story to a nonprofit fan organization that up to now had been ignored by The Eye...
