I won't defend Chase, but I will say I've watched about five or six episodes of Community over the last few years because people I respect enjoy the series. I find it to be marginal/average at its best moments (frankly whenever Jon Oliver appears in his recurring role), and I would agree with Chase's assessment that the show is bland and unoriginal.
