I was really puzzled by his remarks. Before I clicked on the article, from just reading the summaries posted around the link, I thought maybe he was criticizing perhaps the jokes of shows like "2 Broke Girls", which really has laid the sex, rape and masturbation jokes on thick. (Though as counterpoint, Aronsohn writes "Two and a Half Men", which lays the sex, rape and masturbation jokes on thick.) But then I see the full comments which seems to complain about the women themselves. Of course, neither interpretation is all that good. The first one demonstrates a double-standard in comedy. (His show has mined every bodily function for jokes, including menstruation.) The actual ones.. well, women are incredibly underrepresented in comedy. Look at how surprised Hollywood was when "Bridesmaids" made lots of money. I just wonder where his head was when he made those remarks?
