Seemingly the last stable late night schedule NBC had since NBC cancelled
Nightside in 1990-something was the one anchored around Poker After Dark.
Unfortunately, the sponsors/major funders for Poker After Dark was alleged
to be involved in illegal online gambling. (Who could have
*possibly*foreseen that?) Well, while we will all miss Leeann Tweeden
(though it
looks like Poker reruns are running late nights on the NBC Sports Network),
we can once again contemplate gambling with out money while watching NBC
late night! No, NBC is not airing those infomercials purporting to tell you
how to get make mega-millions by investing in our
booming/collapsing/busted/foreclosed housing market. (Well, not
nationally... maybe your local affiliate is. Check your local listings.)
No, NBC has something better; They're now running Mad Money during the
overnights. YES! Carnival barker Jim Cramer will scream to you his best
choices for stocks for you to lose money investing in, every weeknight at
around 3am ET. Admittedly, this is the perfect counterprogramming against
the other networks which air the aforementioned "Make Millions in Real
Estate" or the ever popular "Montel Williams and Sylvia Browne shill for
products no one should ever buy".
