This reminds me of The Untouchables (Desilu version). There is a
fictional cop, based on a real one, who takes down gangsters in a
world several decades before contemporary time. If they don't get too
caught up in the Mad Men '60s vibe and they don't make mysterious
references to some grand conspiracy every week, I might watch. Having
Pileggi on board gives it credibility.
