On one hand, it's not surprising--"Wheel" and :Jeopardy!" are not
automatically number one and two anymore ("Judge Judy" and "Big Bang" are
ahead of them, although "Big Bang"'s numbers include the TBS airings) and
we all know that game shows pull mostly undesirable demos. In fact, with
everything else, including Trebek dithering on retirement, I wouldn't be
surprised if Sony and CBS pack those shows up after their current contracts
run out in 2015. But is Scripps willing to risk plummeting ratings in a
key time period in exchange for lower program costs, since I assume CBS has
had no problem selling their shows to other stations in those markets?
