It hasn't been mentioned here yet, and might seem like bragging, but the
BBC is doing some astonishing coverage for what is our home Olympics.

Essentially there will be 24 "pop-up" HD (and another 24 in standard def)
channels on the two main pay-for TV systems Sky and Virgin Media. Between
them, these will cover EVERY sport live around the clock. Essentially
you'll be able to watch anything you like at the time it happens. If the
fencing heats or handball qualifiers are your thing, they'll be live in HD.

Of course there's regular coverage spread over at least three, and
sometimes five TV channels (plus three radio channels). And everything will
be on the web... well in the UK.

The irony is that I've been busily tracking down tickets over the last few
months - something which is actually quite hard to come by with the vast
majority of events sold out. So I'll be traipsing around London attending
events rather than watching much of the coverage in HD.
