I'd agree wholeheartedly.  The contestants are given 30 seconds to
write the correct response, after which the electronic pens are
disabled.  In her 30 seconds, she failed to write the correct
response.  End of game.

Two days ago, I finished reading a book on the history of the entity
referenced in tonight's question; it devoted a page or two to the
exact event referenced in the clue.  An odd feeling, to say the
least...
