That makes sense, and I withdraw my previous complaint. Aside: I can only imagine that moment when the correct response popped in her head and she had to frantically try to write it as the time expired. If it were me, and I saw that pen stop working at that exact moment, that pen would've been hurled onto the lectern so hard that the replacement cost would've been deducted from my check.
