Jack's daughter (and frequent monologue subject), a successful attorney, died after falling onto the tracks at Grand Central Terminal (possibly from a stroke or seizure) and hitting her head. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/05/arts/television/randy-paar-talk-show-hosts-daughter-and-guest-dies-at-63.html?hpw Jack's Tonight Show was before my time, but it seems like in almost every tape of the show I've seen, he manages to bring up Randy. It always warmed my heart to see a father so crazy about his daughter. If you ever get a chance to watch the seminar Jack did at what was then known as the Museum of Broadcasting, don't miss it. He opens with a hilarious story of how, at the height of the Vietnam War, he found a North Vietnamese flag in Randy's luggage. (Or so he thought.) -Tim
