Reality TV has remained resolutely non-union in its crews (with a few exceptions, most notably the "shiny floor" talent shows that use studio facilities, mostly CBS TV City) and the International Alliance of Theatrical Employees is picketing the Las Claritas set of "The Great Escape," the new reality comp from "TAR" creator Bertrand Van Munster scheduled to premiere on TNT at the end of the month, claiming obstruction of organizing efforts: http://www.thewrap.com/tv/article/iatse-union-strikes-against-tnt-s-great-escape-4349 In the fall of 2010, the IATSE started representing the crew of "The Biggest Loser" after a two-week strike that had the show's then-trainers (including Jillian Michaels) refusing to cross the union picket lines. Van Munster has avoided union crews for Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney co-produced "TAR" and Bruckheimer and Warners co-produced "Take the Money and Run," his summer flop for ABC last year, but will he, 20th's cable/reality arm Fox TV Studios and Brian Grazer and Lil Opie's Imagine succomb this time?
