As a rabid Letterman fan through the years, this is the first "Here's the Thing" that interested me enough to tune in and listen. If Alec handles all the other interviews as well as he did this one, I think I'll probably start working my way back through the archives and catch up on the previous ones. This was one of the better interviews with Dave I've ever heard.

http://www.wnyc.org/shows/heresthething/2012/jun/18/ I'm not quite done listening to this episode, but it's fascinating, as usual. I especially enjoyed Dave's stories about his TV and radio days in Indiana, and the importance of the booth announcer, a job that basically doesn't exist anymore. At 44 minutes, this is the longest "Here's the Thing" so far, beating out Lorne Michaels by 3 minutes. Most episodes are under 30 minutes.-Tim--
