The article didn't mention what the Viacom channels have been replaced with: a
"mix channel" showing 8 non-Viacom general-entertainment channels at once (FX,
TBS, Bravo, etc.), with a description along the lines of "Viacom forced us to
drop this channel. We're working to get it back. Meanwhile, why not watch one
of these other channels?"
DirecTV's also making the suite of Encore channels available free to all
subscribers until at least July 31. ("Including Encore Family," pointed out
their tweet announcing this.)
