Let's not sugarcoat this. It was an interview of Phelps by Seacrest. As for other moments of silence, Meredith and Matt could have said much, much less during the ceremony. They used the right amount of graphics along the bottom for the athletes march, but nothing during the preceding jaunt through British history.
