I think that's the case. Or, at least that's the impression I have. I've
only watched a few minutes here and there in searches for something more
interesting than what's on the competition. So far, I haven't seen anything
that would cause me to change my habits.

My question: Have they pretty much stuck to their promise to keep the show
more serious and hard news than "GMA" and "Today," which they initially
claimed was the reason for bringing in Rose, in particular?

Stop me if you've heard this one before... after just a few months on
the job, a morning news anchor is being abruptly replaced by a redhead

After six months on the resurrected "CBS This Morning", Erica Hill,
the only survivor of the repeated "Early Show" house-cleanings who is
still working for CBS News*, is being replaced by White House
correspondent Norah O'Donnell.

months went back to his old job at WCBS.

Of the three people on that show the few times I have seen it recently, Hill
is the last one I would have replaced.

The chronic ratings cesspool that the 7-9 am slot has so long been for CBS
serves to highlight the real value of David Letterman, and why, in context,
he is worth so much more to CBS than Leno is to NBC (or than Dave would have
been to NBC). If there was one person who could instantly make CBS
relatively close #2 to Today, they would back up the truck and dump piles of
money on his lawn every week to lock him down.
