The only dramas I see in production in LA -- and I bump into them
everywhere -- are the two NCIS shows. I swear, NCIS: LA is stalking
me, having shot three times in my neighborhood, once on the beach
close to where my mom lives, and one time a half block from where I
used to work. Alas, I have not been able to get Daniela Ruah to
acknowledge my existence. You'd think the fact I drive the same car as
LL Cool J on the show would get me some notice, but no.

And no, it isn't just me. Of my apx. 200 Facebook friends, nearly 30
are unemployed, and another 15 or so are underemployed. Almost half of
those in dire (or near dire) straits live in the LA area. Today I had
to resort to creating a 100th version of my resume (only slight
hyperbole), this one focusing on my days working and managing various
retail outlets because -- sigh -- I'm now having to apply to work
retail again.
