Yesterday I reported about the second Hollywood producer to off himself in a week. I posted something similar on Facebook, snarkily adding that I wished it had been the producers who gave us Snooki and that Boo Boo girl instead of people whose work I generally respected. Come to find out, a longtime friend has a niece who is partly responsible for that trash, and he was unamused by my suggestion -- tongue in cheek though it was -- that she dive off a bridge.
I stand by the comment. No, I don't want anyone to actually commit suicide, but the people responsible for exploiting stupid people and elevating them to stardom are not operating in the best interests of society. I realize I worked on some crap shows in my day, but nothing that compares to this. And, for the record, I still feel bad about some of the crap I unleashed to the masses -- something tells me the rich f*ckers behind Snooki don't feel bad.
