Despite Stewart's clear disgust Wednesday night, this "debate" will flop for two reasons: the first is Stewart's obsession with not yelling, and searching for common ground and bipartisanship. The second is O'Reilly's imperviousness to either facts or admitting he is/was wrong.
The way the thing is being presented, they're trying to lure the audience in to see two passionate ideologues going at it hammer and tong. Given the pasts of the two men, it won't happen.
